Some food joints in the area we stayed but to get a decent meal you would need to drive. We were just passing through so didn’t get a chance to see any of the nature reserve that was close by.

Bakersfield is a good stopping off point enroute to somewhere else - not too far from the southern Sierras or Los Angeles - but there is literally nothing to do *in* Bakersfield unless one is a country music history fan, and it suffers from terrible air pollution and punishing heat much of the year.

Seasoned as an amateur and grilled like a novice. As a chef I resiant this worthless attempt at making and offering a presentable meal. Same on his/her talents. shame for letting the quality of your brand fall low. I am only one but one that is never more.

Sometimes the cheap hotels in this area are roach infested or have a bunch of loiters. The rain kept the loiters away and I didn't find a single roach so this was a fortunate departure from my normal AirBNB choice; which was booked for my stay.
